What is Torah High and what’s in it for me?
Torah High is an accredited after-school Jewish studies program that allows Jewish public high school students to take Jewish studies courses and receive high school credit. Torah High is operated by NCSY and JSU: the premier organizations dedicated to connect, inspire, and empower Jewish teens and encourage passionate Judaism through Torah and Tradition.Two separate tracks are offered: grades 9-12 and grades 7-8.

What classes do you offer?
This year’s course offerings include Krav Maga, Judaism 101, Hebrew, Rock Band Jew.0, Jewish Philosophy, Beginner’s Guitar, Film Making and Video Editing, Culinary Arts, History, and Beit Midrash.

When do classes meet?
Classes are held on Monday and Thursday evenings from 7 to 9 pm.

Where will classes be held?
Monday night classes take place at Congregation Bikur Holim Machzikay Ha’adath in Seward Park. Thursday night classes take place at the Stroum Jewish Community Center on Mercer Island. Transportation will be provided from other areas in Seattle at no extra cost.

Can I bring my friends?
Absolutely! We welcome anyone not registered in Torah High to attend a class and try it out for themselves.

I’m hungry. Will there be any food?
We know it has been a long day, so we will be providing dinner. Drinks are also served at many classes.

Torah High has open enrollment.

How to I get credits?
Credits are worked out between Torah High, the individual student, and each school district.

Can I start in the second semester?
Yes! Students may also join the course in February, after winter break, and continue until the following January and also receive a credit.

Are there any fees?
There is $36 deposit with the application. Tuition for a full year is $600, or per semester is $350.
